Orthodontic Treatments
What are orthodontic treatments?
Orthodontics is a section of dentistry which conducts diagnostics, treatments and correction of malocclusions (improper bites).
Causes of orthodontic problems
The causes of orthodontic problems are many. Incorrect closure of tooth rows (malocclusion) can be inborn and acquired. Most cases of pathological occlusion appear due to bad habits during early childhood (using pacifiers, sucking fingers etc).
Potential dangers of improper bite
It is more difficult to take proper care of incorrectly formed teeth, which often leads to the development of tooth and gum diseases, and in future may result in the loss of teeth.
Which age is better for orthodontic treatments?
Orthodontic treatments can take place at any age, but, naturally, it is more effective at a younger age when the teeth and jaws are still shaping.
How orthodontic treatment are conducted?
Treatments conducted before the age of six are conducted with the use of removable braces. With a permanently formed bite, treatments are performed with the use of brackets. Brackets can be located on the outer as well as on the inner side of teeth. The color of the brackets and braces can vary according to the preferences of the patient.
Cost of treatment
Statistics confirm that the cost of dental treatments in patients who have not received orthodontic treatment is much higher than in patients who have completed such treatment. The cost of orthodontic treatment is determined individually and depends on the difficulty of treatment.
